Youth and Education @ RLC

Education at Rushford Lutheran Church is a life long experience. Our family education program has nearly 160 students from three-year-olds to high school students each week. The confirmation, or affirmation of Baptism, program is a chance for young Christians to grow in their faith, learn about the Catechism and Bible and grow in fellowship with one another. The program kicks off in September. f

Adult education experiences focus on Bible study through adult forums, women's Bible study, and prayer fellowship. Check out Getting Involved for more information.

FAMILY EDUCATION NEWS

“Let us go to the house of the Lord” Psalm 122:1.

Happy March!  Let’s hope spring is on the way.

March Memory Builders-

MARCH 14 - Fourth Grade – The Beatitudes   9 AM church service. Reminder:  This is also the beginning of Day Light Savings.  Remember to set your clocks ahead!! Also Jake Sorenson from Sugar Creek Bible Camp will be present to tell us about their Lutheran Bible Camp.

MARCH 21 - Third Grade  - Apostles Creed      9 AM church service.

Reminder letters will go out to parents and students. Keep up the good work.

March 28 is the Palm Sunday-Procession of the Palms Grades P3 – 5th grade.  Please have students arrive at church by 8:40 so we can hand out palms and get lined up for our singing presentation!  Also it’s Easter Egg Hunt!

Easter is April 4th.  There will be no family education or confirmation classes that Sunday.

March is Minnesota Food Share Month.  SEMCAC will get some matching funds during this time.  The student’s offerings for March will be our yearly donation for the local food shelf.  Please consider this when you fill your envelope.  There will be a box in the Parish Hall for the students and families to leave non-perishable food items.   This is a good time to have a talk about stewardship.  How do you share your gifts from God?  Please let your Family Education teacher know if you are in need of offering envelopes.

Thank you to the Fifth grade class and teachers and other grades for making the Valentines that were delivered to the residents at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home on February 14th.  Thanks also to the high school class and their teachers for delivering the valentines to the home.

You helped make the day special for so many with your caring “hearts”.

Thank you to the 2nd graders for the Memory builder presentation of the 10 commandments on February 14th.  You did a wonderful job and we are very proud of you.

Please keep collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Our Fourth grade class along with their teacher, Kendra Eide, and volunteers will take a tour of the House and deliver the tabs in April.   The class is trying to collect MORE tabs than last year’s class and is on a mission!  Please help them by bringing in you tabs to the front entrance of the church (large container in entry way) or by delivering them to Family Education.   We can make a difference.  What a gift!

The high school Family Education class will be writing letters to men and women in the armed forces.  If you have someone that is in the military and would like to receive a letter from our students, please contact Lisa Ledebuhr at 864-3141 or email at lisa_ledebuhr@yahoo.com.  You can also call the church office and leave the name and address there.

  • §        May 2nd:  1st Graders --23rd Psalm
