Please have students report to church at 8:40. Thank you for letting us share their beautiful voices.
The Second grade class will do their memory builders on February 12th at the 9:00 AM church service. Letters will be mailed out to parents and students with details. The Fifth and Sixth grade classes are making valentines for the Good Shepherd residents. Thank you for sharing your hearts with them.
Please keep collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Our 4th grade class is setting out collection containers in the community as well as church. Our 4th graders will tour the Ronald McDonald House in April and are really excited! Please help us support this worthy Project by bringing in your pop tabs to the family education area. There are also other ítems that the Ronald McDonald House can use such as cleaning ítems and various supplies. A list of ítems needed will be posted in the education wing and next to the church office. Please take a look and place ítems in box outside Education office. Thanks.
Bible Camp: There is a bulletin board with information about Bible camps in our area located on the 2nd floor of the education wing. Please see Lisa Ledebuhr if you would like to take home a flyer to look at. Bible camps are a great experience for our young christians and we encourage attendance. In late February, we will have our Bible Camp Sunday at which time we will feature an area Bible Camp that will share information about camp to the congregation and students. A representative from the camp will come and talk to us during worship as well as family education hour. Good Earth Village, Sugar Creek Bible Camp and Camp Victory are the camps in our area that we have sent students to. RLC has not affiliated itself with any one camp and we do not favor one over another. All the camps are excellent choices. We have a Bible Camp fund established at RLC and we encourage you to inquire about that. Please contact the church office or Lisa Ledebuhr with questions.
Thank you to the P3, P4 and Kindergarten classes for sharing their memory work of the Lord’s Prayer. How wonderful to hear that you have learned this important prayer!
Memory Builders Dates:
Feb. 12th: 2nd Graders Ten Commandments
March 25th: 4th Graders The Beatitudes
March 11th: 3rd Graders The Apostle’s Creed
April 22nd: 5th and 6th graders Books of Old/New Testament
May 6th: 1st Graders 23rd Psalm
Please try to make the memory builder dates. This is a class effort and is easiest when the whole class shows up. We will have treates for the kids in their classrooms afterward. Remember: Strength in numbers!!
STEWARDSHIP: We have been talking the last couple weeks about stewardship in family education. Please remind your students about the importance of stewardship. Please ask your teacher for offering envelopes if you are running low. Additional envelopes are available in the family education office. Offering we collect from students helps to support charities as well as to offset the cost of Sunday school supplies and student activities.
I wish you all a very safe and happy February. God’s Blessings, Lisa Ledebuhr, Family Education Director
