MEETING – Hannah Circle will provide the program for Wednesday, October 2 meeting. It begins at 9:00 a.m. with a brunch being served by Adah Circle. Martha Circle oversees the program.
Please pick up your pans from the kitchen. We need the area cleared by October 5th for the Men’s Supper.

President Corrine opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and gave an opening prayer. She turned the program over to the Hannah Circle. Wanda Kopperud gave devotions reading a short story called “Lincoln’s Pocket”. “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” was sung by the group. Margie Brevig introduced Jolene Hartwick, Terri Benson and Joyce Iverson who went on a mission trip to Puerto Rico in January for 12 days. They were part of an organization called The Fuller Center for Housing which is like Habitat for Humanity. While there, they would rebuild homes that were destroyed in the 2017 hurricane. They showed slides of the devastation left by the hurricane and what it looks like after their work. Jolene has been on several of these trips, mostly with Habitat for Humanity. Her most recent trip was to Paraguay where she worked on 4 houses. Following the presentation, “In Christ There is No East of West” was sung.
John Magnuson from the RLC Men’s Club was present to talk about the Codfish Supper on October 5. He was again requesting help from the women to make meatballs and cookies and to help with clean-up after the supper. A sign-up sheet was passed around asking for volunteers.
President Corrine called the business meeting to order. The secretary’s report was read and approved. The treasurer’s report was read and approved showing a balance on hand of $3,068.72.
Old Business: Corrine reminded everyone of the salad luncheon on Sept. 18. The committee has requested each circle bring two 9×13 pans of bars rather than one large one so there is more selection. Marlene Boehmke reported that the cookbook is ready to go to press and they will start selling as soon as they come in. Cost will be $15.00
New Business: Ilene Larson reported that they will start collecting items for Operation Christmas Child soon. They already have a large stock of items to be packed. Linda Paulson gave a quilting report. It was announced that peeling of apples for pies and crisp will be on Fri., Sept 6 at 1:00pm. All are welcome to come and help. Ilene Larson and Linda Paulson volunteered to be on the nominating committee to select officers for next year. Corrine announced that baking for the bazaar will begin on Mon. Oct 14 and Tues. Oct 15. Several Thank Yous were read. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
Announcements: Birthdays, anniversaries, and prayer requests were noted. The next meeting will be a breakfast meeting at 9:00 on Oct. 2. Martha Circle has the program, Adah Circle the lunch and Sunday morning coffee will be the Priscilla Circle. Corrine closed with prayer and the Lard’s Prayer was said and the table prayer was sung. Lunch was served by the Miriam Circle.
